Customs, Duties & Import Taxes Policy

Customs, Duties & Import Taxes Policy

Effective Date: 05 July 2026

At Abbonzzo, we work with a global network of trusted suppliers to bring you unique, carefully selected products from around the world. As many of our products are shipped internationally, your order may be subject to customs procedures, import duties, taxes, or other government-imposed charges depending on your country’s import regulations.

Please read this policy carefully before placing your order.

  1. International Shipping

Many of our products are shipped directly from our international supplier partners to provide you with the widest possible selection and the best value.

As a result:

  • Orders may be shipped from multiple warehouses.
  • Orders containing multiple products may arrive in separate parcels.
  • Delivery times vary depending on destination, customs processing, and local courier services.
  1. Customs Duties and Import Taxes

Customs duties, VAT, GST, import taxes, brokerage fees, and other government charges are determined by your country’s customs authority.

These charges are not included in the purchase price or shipping cost displayed at checkout unless expressly stated otherwise.

If applicable, these charges are the responsibility of the customer.

  1. South African Customers

For customers in South Africa:

  • Orders may be subject to customs duties and import VAT in accordance with regulations administered by the South African Revenue Service (SARS).
  • Customs assessments are determined solely by SARS and customs officials.
  • Abbonzzo cannot predict or guarantee whether duties or taxes will apply to any individual order.
  1. International Customers

Customers outside South Africa are responsible for complying with all import laws and regulations applicable in their country.

Import duties, VAT, GST, customs clearance charges, brokerage fees, or similar government charges may be collected by your local customs authority or delivery carrier before your parcel is released.

  1. Customs Delays

Occasionally, customs inspections may delay delivery.

Abbonzzo has no control over:

  • Customs inspections
  • Customs processing times
  • Import clearance procedures
  • Government regulations
  • Delays caused by customs authorities

Estimated delivery times do not include delays caused by customs processing.

  1. Refused Shipments

If a customer refuses to pay customs duties, taxes, or import fees and the shipment is:

  • refused,
  • abandoned,
  • destroyed, or
  • returned,

Abbonzzo may not be able to issue a refund if the supplier or shipping carrier does not recover the parcel.

If a returned parcel is successfully received back by the supplier in resalable condition, any eligible refund may be reduced by:

  • original shipping costs,
  • return shipping costs,
  • customs charges,
  • carrier handling fees,
  • payment processing fees, and
  • any other costs incurred.
  1. Incorrect Customs Information

Customers are responsible for providing accurate shipping information.

Abbonzzo is not responsible for customs delays, additional charges, or delivery failures resulting from incorrect:

  • names,
  • addresses,
  • postal codes,
  • contact numbers, or
  • other required shipping information.
  1. Customs Documentation

Our suppliers prepare customs documentation in accordance with applicable shipping regulations.

Customers may occasionally be contacted by customs authorities or courier companies to provide:

  • proof of purchase,
  • identification,
  • tax numbers (where required),
  • or additional import documentation.

Failure to provide requested information may result in delivery delays or cancellation by customs authorities.

  1. Restricted or Prohibited Items

Certain countries restrict or prohibit the import of specific products.

Customers are responsible for ensuring that products ordered from Abbonzzo comply with their local import laws.

Abbonzzo cannot be held responsible if customs authorities:

  • seize,
  • confiscate,
  • destroy, or
  • refuse entry

to products that violate local regulations.

  1. Lost or Seized Parcels

If customs authorities permanently seize a shipment due to local import restrictions or customer non-compliance with customs requirements, Abbonzzo cannot provide a refund or replacement.

Where a shipment is lost during transit before customs clearance, our standard Shipping Policy will apply.

  1. Customs Valuation

Product values declared on customs documentation are determined by the supplier in accordance with applicable laws and shipping requirements.

Abbonzzo cannot alter declared values or mark shipments as “gifts” where doing so would violate customs regulations.

  1. Carrier Clearance Fees

Some shipping carriers may charge customs clearance or brokerage fees in addition to government duties and taxes.

These fees are determined solely by the carrier and are the responsibility of the customer.

  1. Delivery Refusal

If a shipment is refused by the customer for reasons unrelated to product quality or shipping damage—including refusal to pay customs charges—the order may not be eligible for a full refund.

  1. Compliance with Import Laws

By placing an order with Abbonzzo, you acknowledge that:

  • you are the importer of record where applicable;
  • you are responsible for complying with your country’s import laws;
  • you accept responsibility for any applicable customs duties, VAT, taxes, or government fees; and
  • you understand that customs processing is beyond Abbonzzo’s control.
  1. Questions

If you have any questions regarding customs, duties, or international shipping before placing your order, please contact our Customer Support team.

We are happy to assist you in understanding our shipping process, although we cannot provide advice regarding customs charges imposed by individual countries.

Disclaimer

This policy is intended to provide general information regarding customs procedures. Customs regulations, import duties, taxes, and clearance requirements vary between countries and may change without notice.
